Life in the lab & a trip to Lagoinha

My lab building, beautifully located in a secluded area of the agricultural campus.
Inside the lab. Smaller rooms for gel electrophoresis, PCR, etc. attached to the larger area.

We have a very quaint garden area that's proved very nice for thinking. Koi pond included, of course!

Karla, a biochemistry undergraduate, and I preparing RNA extraction.
Endless tiny microtubes involved in running real time PCRs.

Below are pictures from today's hike to Lagoinha, a secluded surfer beach only accessible via a few  different hiking trails or by boat! The most beautiful place I've ever seen!

Lots of fun with new friends and adventure dog :)
