We have already been here a week, but we have learned so much about global health and particularly community-based public health and ways to implement new projects in a community. This picture is from our trip last Monday to the port in Managua. These are the "Trees of Life" that light up downtown Managua at night. 

This is another picture from the port in Managua. Apparently the city got creative and created a pier/boardwalk out of colorful barrels. 

This is our group (minus Rachel) at the end of our first week of training. Desiree, Vivian, Jessica, and Doctor Laura are also pictured. They have been very inspiring teachers! 

This weekend we will be traveling to Leon for a short break before heading to the community next week to apply some of the skills we have learned in class.
